Objects of Lumps, 2022The "Objects of Lumps" replaces the shape of a typical bag with a flexible and stiff material. The body of the bag is deformed by expanding horizontally and vertically. Additionally, the chain has been converted into silver beads that came off the bag and barely got across over the body of the bag. The extra material clumps and scatters around. The bags have become a piece of black scruffy that only remain traces of metal sub-materials on the surface, barely telling that they were bags. The appearance of each mass gathered is one that heavily exists in the space, like the foreground of any sculpture park.

Artist BiographySoo-Jin Choi represents the appearance of objects using various types of minerals. The artist's viewpoint reveals her desire for existence, which translated to the reconstructed masses crossing the gap between the material world and her work. Sometimes, she feels bored and loves too many things simultaneously, and she is now continuing her work at her studio "Material World" in Seoul.
